Studying voice with Vielka opened a world of artistic expression to me that
has served me and transformed the course of my life.
When I began coaching in middle school, I had a great love of singing but hardly could find the right notes. Quickly and lovingly, Vielka not only tuned my ear and taught me how to interpret a song, but she grew my confidence as a singer across a number of life and artistic milestones: preparing me for a successful audition for the LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts vocal program, or - when I ultimately chose Stuyvesant instead - helping me land roles like Rizzo in Grease, Molly in Girl Crazy and Eve Harrington in Applause to keep theatre alive in my life.
A skilled, thoughtful and encouraging coach, Vielka helped me to continuously challenge myself as a singer through growing the instruction and material with me as I grew, tackling music from Rogers & Hammerstein to Italian arias.
But beyond that, Vielka set me up to live a fulfilling life as a singer:
some of my strongest friendships formed through my college theatre company, Penn Singers,
when I attended The Wharton School, and I am performing to this day with the Village Light Opera Group
-- almost 20 years down the path we started together."

Our son is thriving at Frank Sinatra!!!! He auditioned and got into musical theatre which is what he wanted forever!!!!! He is now working with upperclassmen. He's in such a great place and is starting to open up socially. Thank you for such a great start for him - we will always be grateful for your time and expertise."
Update: "I wanted to share with you Jarius is performing again at his school with the production of Phantom of the Opera. Once again thank you so much for setting the stage for him to be his best. After working with him he truly came out of his shell. Thank you thank you thank you!!!"
