Welcome to YSA! Let's Get You Set Up for Success.

Set your weekly recurring lesson time

Schedule at least 3 practice days at home per week

3. PARENT ORIENTATION - TBD FALL 2022

Parent Orientation

Orientations are live Zoom meetings for parents to help you make the most of YSA.
You'll get an interactive overview of the program with time for Q&A.

4. CLOSINGS CALENDAR - HOLIDAYS, ACADEMIC BREAKS, & HOLIDAY RESCHEDULES

The YSA Calendar

Your membership saves a recurring weekly time just for you.
Should you need to change your reserved time, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
There are no make-ups.

YSA Summer Sessions are from June to August.
Your summer membership gives you weekly lessons with flexible scheduling when needed.

YSA Closings

Holidays and Academic Breaks:
Lessons are weekly (48 in a calendar year) with the exception of 4 weeks of academic breaks - fall, winter, spring and summer. Private Program only: Should your regularly scheduled private lesson fall on a holiday, you may reschedule for an alternate time that week only.
There are no credits or make ups for Academic Breaks, Reserved Weekly Lessons or Group Classes.

The YSA Calendar

The Private Program offers weekly lessons on a month-to-month subscription.
The Group Program is offered by the Term: Fall, Spring & Summer.

YSA Song Shares

Song Shares are informal live Zoom gatherings to build friendships and performance skills.
It's a time to have fun and practice:
introducing yourself, sharing what you're working on, and being brave!

YSA Studio Recitals

Studio Recitals are an opportunity to meet other singers who study with your teacher!
They are informal live gatherings via Zoom with your teacher.
It's all about getting to know each other and celebrating courage and progress.

Annual Recital

At the end of the year, we are thrilled to present our Annual Recital!
This year we will present our first Recital Series - a collection of 30-45 minute virtual recitals.
This will give us the opportunity to celebrate each individual's accomplishments,
while sticking to the philosophy that YSA recitals should be under an hour...especially for our youngest singers!

6. CANCELLATION POLICY & MORE

Cancellation Policy for All Group, Private Lessons and Special Events:
There are no make up lessons. As a courtesy, please let us know you will be absent in advance.

Before you cancel, consider:

a "No Singing" Lesson! There's still plenty to do even if you are sick (no fever) or have lost your voice and can't sing!
using the lesson time to call in for a progress update.
ask us to send you a personalized video or replay of the group lesson.
asynchronous video coaching - send a video and we'll video back!
gifting your lesson time to a sibling, parent, grandparent or friend!

Teacher Absence:
Life happens...especially with talented professional performers! Should your teacher need to miss your lesson either there will be a substitute teacher or it will be rescheduled.

Your courtesy is appreciated!
Please email your teacher to let them know you can't make it at least 24 hours in advance.

7. MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAMS

Music Achievement Programs

As part of YSA Programs, we are integrating the repertoire and music skill standards of
Trinity College London and The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).
Designed as international music standards for children,
you'll have the opportunity to earn leveled singing certifications
in classical, pop, rock and musical theater.
