Pre-/Professional Track Singers who are:
|
Designed specifically for 9th-12th graders, your high schooler will gain the skills and confidence of a trained singer AND teaching artist! This innovative program offers 20-hour weekly in-person training in Manhattan so your singer will leave with:
- singer's positive mindset to motivate growth and tackle tough times
- specific vocal tools that make singing simple and fun and easy to teach
- confident vocal technique for healthy, sustainable singing in all registers using The Vielka Method™
- sight singing music using the Kodály approach and moveable tonic solfege
- experiential ear training using whole body movement with Dalcroze Eurhythmics
- song study process they can apply to each piece that includes performance skills
- beginning voice teaching skills to deepen their practice and prepare for real-life application
- building their "book" with the singer's triple threat: classical, musical theater, and pop piece each week
- videos of their final performances each week
OPTIONAL ADD-ONS
Students will all be prepared for the following opportunities and have the option to add on:
- additional private lessons to deepen their study
- international music achievement certification via Royal Conservatory of Music, Trinity College London, or ABRSM
- mentorship and/or internship toward The Vielka Method™ Teaching Artist Certification
TWO-PART APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
There are TWO parts to the application:

2. APPLICATION PART 2 OF 2 - COMPLETE THIS FORM WITH YOUR 2 VIDEOS (DETAILS BELOW)
You will submit 2 short videos and upload them to the Application Part 2 Form. These are the 2 video prompts:
Video 1 (Duration: 30-60 seconds)
Include the following in your first video:
Video 2 (Duration: 30-60 seconds)
Choose 1 piece that showcases your vocal technique and musical taste. Submit a video of your song. It does not need to be the whole song.
